Reader gets protest out in the open

Posted: Wednesday, April 04, 2007

This is a note of protest.

It seems to me the borough should give us a reason for a higher property assessment.

What property around me can you claim a higher assessment on?

Our natural gas bill is twice as high, the gasoline the same or more. They took away our Longevity Bonus and now you want more taxes. As far as I can tell, it is just to pay borough employees more money.

What chance would we have to get a reduction or at least not a raise when you are the judge of whether we could get an unbiased judgement?

It seems to me everything is going down in value except that borough people want more money. Even charging now for a protest. How disagreeable can you get?

We are in an age group where our medical expenses are a lot more than when we were younger also.

I don’t guess this will do any good, but I feel better.
