Local residents who are served by the Homer Electric Association have an opportunity to vote for members of the board of directors of our Rural Electrification Association Co-operative, and ballots recently should have been received or soon will be.
Don't treat them as junk mail; your vote is important.
In the coming year, important issues that will affect the reliability and cost of the electric power we depend on will be coming before the board, and we need members who are well informed, open-minded and have the vision to decide on what is best for the future of our co-op making those decisions.
If you live in District No. 1 (the Kenai-Nikiski area), as I do, I hope you'll vote for David Thomas. I've known Dave for several years, and I believe he has the understanding and vision we need to make the decisions that will move HEA in the direction that is best for all its members.
