Anchor Point resident Eugene F. Becker died Saturday, March 30, 2002, at South Peninsula Hospital Long Term Care in Homer. He was 77.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at South Peninsula Hospital Long Term Care.
Mr. Becker was born Aug. 20, 1924, in St. Paul, Minn. He was a high school graduate at the age of 16. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a radioman. He was also an instructor in the signal division.
Mr. Becker moved to Alaska in 1966. He lived in Homer and Anchor Point, where he was a real estate broker and owned his own business. He retired in 1986.
He was a member of the American Legion. He was a marksman in rifle and carbine and an expert in pistol. He earned an aviation badge, and was also a stamp collector.
"He'll be missed by those who loved him and he was loved by many," his family said.
Mr. Becker is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Jerry Williams and their daughters of Minnesota; wife, Eleanor Becker of Homer; daughters, Shirley Palmer of Las Vegas, Nev., Dixie Blanchard of Homer and Jacque Rich and her husband Gene Rich of Anchor Point; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
