The following list of Soldotna Community Schools classes and activities beginning this week is printed as a reminded to preregistered participants. Anyone interested in a class or activity should call the Community Schools office at 262-6768.
Spring Centerpiece Arrangement with Carroll Knutson, master florist Learn the simple mechanics professional floral designers use to make beautiful bowl arrangements. Participants should bring a six-inch bowl, a small knife and floral bundle. The class is open to adults with an eight-person minimum and 12-person maximum. It will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Soldotna Middle School home economics room. The cost is $18 and includes foam and greenery.
Beginning Excel with Brad Hibberd, engineer The class will cover basic Excel operations, including cell formatting, toolbar operations, formulas and designing spreadsheets. The class is open to adults and meets from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursdays for two weeks in the SMS computer lab. The cost is $10.
Recycled Art Class with Joyce Cox Don't throw it away. Let's make art. Two sessions will be offered. Participants ages 5 to 8 will meet from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and those ages 9 to 17 will meet from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Each class has a 10-person minimum and 15-person maximum and will meet in the Kenai Peninsula College art room. The cost is $12 for Girl Scout members and $22 for the general public.
