Little League umpires sought

The Kenai and Soldotna Little Leagues are seeking volunteer umpires for the upcoming season. Training clinics will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at Alaska Great Skate; from 1 to 3:30 p.m. April 24 at the Kenai Little League fields; and from 2 to 5 p.m. May 9 at the Kenai Little League fields. Skyview after-graduation committee to meet

The Skyview High School after-graduation party committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the commons. All senior parents are invited to attend. Volunteers are still needed. AARP of Alaska to offer tax assistance

The AARP is offering free income tax assistance for senior citizens, low- to middle-income families and single-parent households from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday through April 15 at the Homer Senior Citizens Center at 3935 Svedlund. All returns are e-filed without charge. Earned income and other tax credits are computed. Internal Revenue Service trained AARP volunteers will be available to help. Water safety class offered

The Soldotna High School swimming pool will hold a water safety instructor class beginning April 17. Students must be at least 16 years old. Space is limited. Preregistration is recommended. For more information, call 262-7419.

Head Start to hold fund-raiser

The Sterling Head Start will hold a dinner, auction and show fund-raiser at 6 p.m. April 17 at the Naptowne Inn. Dinner will include shrimp, chicken and salad. Proceeds will go toward playground equipment. The cost is $12.50 per person. Tickets are on sale at Sterling Head Start, the Naptowne Inn and The Wedding Brokers. For more information, call 260-7446

Kennel club offering dog classes

The Kenai Kennel Club is offering classes at its facility in the C Plaza in Kenai. Classes include puppy kindergarten, which will start April 27, basic, intermediate and advance obedience, beginning agility and conformation handling.

Teen center seeking cameras
