Welcome Walmart and a big thank you!

Posted: Monday, April 05, 2010

The Food Bank Board of Directors and staff wish to thank Walmart for their generous donation of $5,000 to the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank. Walmart's contribution will help many of our local residents who are struggling to put food on the table during these hard economic times. The money received will be used towards our building expansion project at the existing location on K- Beach Rd. The expansion will increase refrigeration, freezer and storage to accommodate additional pounds of food we need in our warehouse to serve member agencies and clients. The more food we are able to store the more people we are able to help.

Thank you again Walmart and Ferdinand Dominic, Store Manager for your help with our building expansion as we serve the Kenai Peninsula Borough residents from Homer to Moose Pass. For more information, visit our website at www://kpfoodbank.org.

Welcome neighbor to the Kenai Peninsula. We are glad to have yet another business that is here to help our local community. In 2009, local stores and businesses provided over 550,000 pounds of reclaimed to the Food Bank.

Executive Director
