Watercolor show to open Friday

The Kachemak Bay Watercolor Society will open its Spring 2000 Art Show Friday at the William Henry Gallery, 432 E. Pioneer in Homer. The opening reception will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. The show will run through May 2.

The Kachemak Bay Watercolor Society is an organization of artists and supporters of the arts interested in watercolor media. Members primarily are from the Kachemak Bay area but also include members from throughout Alaska and other states as well. Members have access to a gallery room in the William Henry Gallery throughout the year, as well as having the annual shows, which utilize the entire gallery space.

Each member of the association has been invited to exhibit up to two individual works. There is no central theme to the show this year other than the use of watercolor as a medium.

Photographers guild to host slide show

The Kenai Peninsula Photographers Guild will host a slide show by Leo and Dorothy Keeler Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center. The presentation, "The Wolves of Denali National Park," captures rarely seen interactions and behaviors.

Mass dance concert planned

The All-School Mass Dance Concert will be held April 14 and 15 at 7 p.m. at the Soldotna High School Auditorium.

Schools taking part in the performance include Kenai Central, Nikiski, Skyview and Soldotna high schools. The North Star Elementary School Tiniklers will make a special appearance.

Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door.
