Driver safety class scheduled
AARP is offering a driver safety class from 6 to 10 p.m. today and Thursday at the Kenai Senior Citizens Center. Possible benefits are having a ticket dismissed and getting a reduction on insurance. Teens and their parents are welcome.

Nikiski chamber to meet
Paul Perry with the Kenai Peninsula College paramedics program will be the featured speaker at noon Thursday at the Nikiski Chamber of Commerce luncheon at Ohana's Family Restaurant. For more information, call Judene Van Cleave at 776-5551.
Child Find screening available
Frontier Community Services Early Childhood Intervention, the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District and Kenai Public Health Center will hold developmental screenings from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Kenai Public Health office. Child Find screenings for children ages birth to 5, immunizations, vision and hearing screenings will be available.

Rowing presentation set
The Alaska Midnight Sun Rowing Association will give an introduction to rowing presentation from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Soldotna Middle School. Participants will learn about the health benefits of sweep rowing and sculling and have an opportunity to sign up for learn to row classes in June and get membership opportunities with the club.

Dog classes available
Peninsula Dog Obedience Group is offering classes at its facility on Kalifornsky Beach Road next to the Central Area Rural Transit System (CARTS) in the Midway Plaza. Continuous classes began in January and include levels obedience. Students will be able to train and move up levels at their own pace. New student orientation is held weekly. The cost is $50 for an eight-week punch card, which is good for four months.
The club also offers ongoing agility, rally and open obedience, beginning conformation with conformation run-throughs to follow and puppy kindergarten for animals ages 8 weeks to 4 months.
