Poetry winners announced

Students from six area schools participated in the American Flag Poetry Program sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, Jerry V. Horn Memorial Post 10046, Soldotna.

The winners were as follows:

First Place: Alyeska Krull, Aurora Borealis; Rachel Moulton, Mountain View Elementary, Conner Pearson, Kalifornsky Beach Elementary; Logan Paul and Paul Holmgaard, Redoubt Elementary; Lucy Robles, Soldotna Elementary; Jalen Terry, home school; Riley Bunn, Home School; Travis Semmens, Aurora Borealis; Katie Moon, Lacie Wortham, Sean Butler and rachel Tyson, Kenai Middle School.

Second Place: Kiana Harding, Aurora Borealis; Tyler Brown, Mountain View Krista Pipkin K-Beach; Liam James Poole and Chase Cain, Redoubt; Tanisha Shane Chavez, Soldotna Elementary; Haley Coffman, Aurora Borealis; Molly Kathleen Watkins, Morgan Mena, Trevor Schaffner and Cara Conte, KMS.

Third Place: Bailey Jones, Aurora Borealis; Roquelle Reynolds, Mountain View; Ariana Gabriel, K-Beach; Bryan Dombovy and Angie Sabala, Redoubt ; Brennan Jack Saul, Soldotna; Jacob Hemstock, Aurora Borealis; Mandy Anderson, Breauna Blanning, Ryan dummler and Alex Sonnichsen, KMS.

Winning entries will compete in the state competition later this month.
