Kaleidoscope School of Arts and Sciences

The Kaleidoscope School of Arts and Sciences, a public charter school in the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District, is slated to open in the fall at Sears Elementary School. The new charter school will focus on child-centered classrooms, hands-on and project-based learning and scientific process and the visual and performing arts integrated in daily lessons.

Applications for students who will be in first- and second-grade in the 2004-05 school year are being accepted, and an enrollment lottery will be held April 29.

For children to be considered for the school, parents must attend one of the following informational meetings at Sears Elementary School: 4 p.m. April 15 or 6 p.m. April 22.
