Area chambers set schedules

Paul Perry with the Kenai Peninsula College paramedics program will speak at noon today at the Nikiski Chamber of Commerce luncheon at Ohana's Family Restaurant.

Next week's speaker will be Lisa Parker, spokesperson for Agrium.

Job and career fair slated

The Peninsula Job Center will host the fourth annual Job and Career Fair from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the Kenai Mall. There will be employers looking to hire.

In addition, there will be employer and training panels designed to provide information on what education and training they need to obtain employment in certain fields.

Homer chamber mixer set

Homer Property Management and Mangia! Mangia! will co-host the next Homer Chamber of Commerce mixer from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Alaska Grand View Retreat Vacation Rental at Mile 9.2 of East End Road.

It will be an evening of food, classical guitar with Chris Towne, an introduction and tour of the retreat and door prizes. Mixers are open to chamber members and invited guests.

The U.S. Department of Labor began a Web site to help employers develop drug-free workplaces titled Working Partners.
