Lifelong Alaskan and Alaska Native Andrew Grosvold died Thursday, March 23, 2006 at South Peninsula Hospital in Homer. He was 80.
A memorial service will be held in Port Graham this summer.
Mr. Grosvold was born Aug. 21, 1925 in Sand Point. He spent most of his life on the water, crab fishing, seining, tendering and commercial clamming. He lived in Seldovia, Seward, Homer and Washington state.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Harriett Smith of Soldotna; daughter, Karen Eastman of Anchorage; and brother, Ralph Grosvold.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Vivian and Dale Malchoff, and daughter, Sherry Glahn, all of Port Graham; son, Eric Grosvold of Anchorage; grandchildren, Tim and Danielle Malchoff and Nicole Grosvold, all of Port Graham, Tatiana, Laurisa, and Kalina Glahn of Pocatello, Idaho, Bryan and Katheryn Grosvold of Boring, Ore., Jarell Eastman of Port Graham and Jason Eastman; great-grandchildren, Navaun Ward of Port Graham and Demyan Glahn of Pocatello; and nephew, Sam Grosvold of Soldotna.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
