Addictions group meets

Reformers Unanimous, a Christ-centered addictions program, meets at 7 p.m. Fridays at the Immanuel Baptist Church. For more information, call 283-9361.

Baha’i classes continue

Spiritual education classes for children ages 5 to 7 is held weekly at 10 a.m. Saturdays.

A course titled Reflections on the Life of the Spirit will be held at the same time for adults and older youth. For location or more information, call 283-6650.

Spaghetti dinner set to dish

The United Methodist Church of the New Covenant will host a spaghetti feed fundraiser from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the church. Silent and Chinese auctions are some of the planned activities.

Community concert planned

The Performing Arts Society will host Mari Hahn, soprano, and Dean Epperson on piano in a concert of vocal music for spring at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna. The concert will feature music by Mendelssohn, Liszt, Schubert, Quilter and Richard Rodgers.

Tickets are $15 general admission and $10 for students. Tickets are available at River City Books, Northcountry Fair, Sweeney’s, Already Read Books, Veronica’s and Charlotte’s. Tickets also will be available at the door.

Matrix Palm Sunday service set

The Matrix Church will meet in the Triumvirate Theater the Peninsula Center Mall in Soldotna. “Kermit” will explain the reason for Palm Sunday. Games, skits, music, prizes, gift bags of groceries and gas cards are some of the planned activities. Matrix is an interactive service for adults with children. Cross art exhibit slated

The Abundant Life Assembly of God Church will host its fourth annual Stations of the Cross art exhibit from Sunday through the April 16 at the church in Sterling. Display from events from events depicted in the “Passions of the Christ.” For more information and times, call 262-7266.

Kenai Aglow meeting scheduled

Kenai Aglow will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at The Salvation Army Chapel, 201 N. Forest Drive in Kenai. The featured speaker will be Bev Berdahl.

Clothes Quarters is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays. It is in the back of the parking lot of Our Lady of the Angels Church, 225 S. Spruce St. in Kenai.

Soldotna aglow to meet

Soldotna Day Aglow meets from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesdays at Peninsula Christian Center, behind The Salvation Army. A Beth Moore Bible study, “A Heart Like His,” is in progress and is about seeking the heart of God through the study of David. For more information, call Brenda at 262-2569.

Nikiski holds bible study

Nikiski Aglow is offering the Beth Moore Bible Study program centered on the Word of God. Every Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the North Star Methodist Church in Nikiski. Shroud of Turin lecture slated

A free lecture on the Shroud of Turin will be presented from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Little Theater at Kenai Central High School. The lecture will be given by Nikiski High School history teacher Robert M. Bird.

The presentation will include a brief demonstration of both the mechanics of crucifixion and how the Shroud may have been endowed with its unique characteristics. A power point and VCR documentary, shown on a large projected screen, as well as a question and answer session also are planned. It is open to the public. Good Friday service scheduled

College Heights Baptist Church will hold a special service at 6 p.m. on Good Friday at the church at 44440 Kalifornsky Beach Road.

Adults18 or older, or youth accompanied by a parent or guardian are invited to come and watch “The Passion of Christ” and observe the Lord’s Supper. The movie “The Jesus Movie For Children” will be shown for children in kindergarten and older. Childcare for young children also will be provided.

Garage sale fundraiser scheduled

St. Francis By the Sea Episcopal Church will hold a garage sale fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 21 and 22 at the church at 110 S. Spruce St. in Kenai. Proceeds will benefit the Christian Education Program. Donated items are sought. Oversize items may be picked up by appointment. For more information, call 283-6040.
