Concert planned in Homer today

The Kenai Peninsula Orchestra Young People's Concert will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Homer Mariner Theater in Homer. Tickets will be sold at the door.

General admission is $5 and children 12 and younger get in free with an accompanying adult.

Domestic violence seminar offered

The Women's Resource and Crisis Center will offer a domestic violence education seminar at 4 p.m. Monday at Kenai Peninsula College in room 201. The topic will be patterns of abuse.

Classes are open to the public and can be taken in a series or as individual classes. For more information, call 283-9479.

KCHS to hold choir concert

The Kenai Central High School Choir will present a spring concert at the KCHS Auditorium Monday at 7 p.m. A variety of soloists, as well as the choir, will be featured. Admission is free.

KPC to offer workshop

The Alaska Procurement Technical Assistance Center and the Kachemak Bay Campus of Kenai Peninsula College will present a workshop at 9 a.m. Tuesday on how to write a winning government contract proposal at the East Campus. The workshop is geared toward pre-proposal planning, offering the basics of technical writing and packaging the proposal for success.

Hospice raffle tickets on sale

Hospice of the Central Peninsula is selling raffle tickets through April 22 for the Memory Quilt, a 5-by-7-foot quilt made by quilters in memory of lost loved ones. The project is called Roses in December, signifying sorrow, comfort, forgiveness, remembrance, friendship, understanding, love, surrender and victory.

Hospice volunteers will sell the tickets. Tickets are $1 each or a book of six for $5. All proceed from the raffle go to hospice programs and services to families caring for loved ones with terminal illnesses and bereaved community members. Call hospice at 262-0453 for ticket information.

KCHS choir reunion planned for June

Registrations are now being accepted for the first KCHS choir reunion being held June 2 for anyone who has sung under the direction of Renee Henderson. Contact information for all former students, as well as stand-by host accommodations, are being sought. For more information, call 283-8364.
