Vaughn's Mini Mart now serving Shell gasoline

Posted: Tuesday, April 08, 2003

Early in March, a change was happening to Vaughn's Mini Mart on K-Beach Road. The red Texaco signs were being replaced with bright yellow Shell signage.

Don Dablemont, owner, said that Shell has purchased all Texaco retail outlets in the country. Dablemont said the only change to Vaughn's would be that the gasoline franchise is different. "We're still here and our philosophy to be competitive in the gas market will stay," said Dablemont.

Dablemont explains that Shell promises to be more aggressive in their marketing and retail programs. "Our customers will benefit more from the change to Shell because Shell is far more customer oriented and has programs to benefit the customer." An example of Shell's aggressive marketing is the new Shell MasterCard that rebates back to the customer 5% off all gas purchases. In today's prices, that equates to a savings of nine cents a gallon.

Vaughn's Mini Mart is located at mile 17 1/2 on Kalifornsky Beach Road in the Red Diamond Center.
