Missionary league to meet

The Star of the North Lutheran Women's Missionary League welcomes representatives throughout the state to the Alaska Zone Spring Joy Shop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Activities will include study sessions, putting together health kits to benefit needy individuals and a communion service.

40 Days of Purpose campaign set

North Star United Methodist Church in Nikiski will begin the 40 Days of Purpose Campaign on Sunday.

The program is a worldwide effort involving an estimated 13,000 churches from 60 denominations.

The center of the campaign is a book called "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren, senior pastor at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, Calif.

During its campaign, the church will present God's five purposes for people to worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry and evangelism, through a weekly message by the pastor, a personal or family daily devotional reading, a weekly Scripture verse that everyone memorizes, a weekly small group lesson and a daily e-mail of encouragement.

Matrix to meet

The Matrix Church will meet at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Peninsula Christian Center behind the Salvation Army store on the Kenai Spur Highway in Soldotna.

Drama performance set

The North Star United Methodist Church will host the Alcan unit of Covenant Players at 7 p.m. Sunday at the church at Mile 25.5 on the Kenai Spur Highway in Nikiski.

The Covenant Players are an international professional theater company founded in 1963. The group serves churches, schools, nursing homes, prisons and other community groups throughout the world.

Clothing available

Clothes 2 Go is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays in the basement of the Nikiski Inlet Faith Church. Items are 25 cents and up.

Bible study group to meet

Nikiski Aglow meets at 9:30 a.m. Wednesdays at North Star Methodist Church. It is open to area women. For more information, call Bev at 776-8022, Elaine at 776-8613 or Wanda at 776-8691.

Clothes Quarters open

Clothes Quarters in the back of the parking lot at 225 Spruce at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Kenai will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and April 16 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 13, 20 and 27. For more information, call 283-4555.

Relationship seminar set

The Kenai Christian Church will host a walk through Bible seminar titled "Solving the People Puzzle" from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and April 15 at Kenai Christian Church's family life center at 104 McKinley St.

The topics will be how to build stronger relationships by understanding yourself, valuing yourself and others and developing your versatility. The cost is $17. To register, call 283-4559.
