PenCC Annual Break-Up Service

Peninsula Christian Center will host the Anchorage Samoan Church this Sunday, 10:30 a.m., at Soldotna High School Auditorium. The service will feature music in English and Samoan along with worship celebration from the islands of Samoa. The break-up service is designed to blend our cultures and enjoy the season. Island attire such as flowered shirts is encouraged but could include "southcentral-tennis-shoes." Lei's will be given to all who attend. Easter for Kids Offered

Grace Lutheran Church and School will host "Easter for Kids," a program to share the real meaning of Easter, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at the church off K-Beach Road, one block down on Ciechanski Road. Kids ages 3 years old to 6th grade may attend. There will be Bible teaching, singing, arts and crafts, games and cookie decorating. Lenten services at North Lutheran Church

Lenten services will continue every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. through April 20 at Star of the North Lutheran Church, 216 N. Forest Dr., in Kenai. Everyone is welcome. We will be continuing to look at some of the players involved in the events leading up to the crucifixion, and listening to what their conversations might have been. On Wednesday, April 13 at 6:30 p.m., there will be a potluck dinner in the Seder tradition (please, no pork, shellfish or leaven bread). Meaning of Easter at Soldotna Church of God

Abundant Life welcomes new pastor and family

Please join Abundant Life Assembly of God in welcoming Pastor Stephen Harshman and his family to the Kenai Peninsula. Pastor Stephen and his family have answered "The Call of God" to come serve the Sterling community. Pastor Stephen will serve as Senior Pastor and his wife will serve as Children's Pastor at Abundant Life. A Community Easter Egg Hunt (preschool -- 6th Grade) is scheduled for Saturday, April 23, at 2 p.m., on the church grounds. Soldotna Aglow studies 'Beautiful Mind'

Soldotna Aglow has started a new session, a Beth Moore DVD entitled "Beautiful Mind." All faiths welcome; safe, fun, and free child care provided every Wednesday at the Peninsula Christian Center (behind the Soldotna Salvation Army), 10 a.m. to noon, fellowship at 9:30. Free course on Bible Basics

Ever wonder what the Bible's really all about? Want to brush up on Bible history? Curious why there are so many different denominations and want to know the difference? Clothes Quarters open weekly

Clolthes Quarters, at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 225 S. Spruce Street, Kenai, is open every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and he first Saturday of every month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 283-4555 for more information.

Clothes ministry ongoing

The Clothes 4 U Ministry offers free clothing to benefit the community. The ministry is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays at First Baptist Church Soldotna Mission House at 119 Little Ave. in Soldotna. Clothes 4 U accepts clothing donations only. For more information, call 260-4806.

Catholicism classes available

Classes for anyone interested in the Catholic Church will be held each Wednesday evening at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The classes are held in O'Neill Hall on Redoubt Avenue at 6:30 p.m. each week. Those attending will learn about the teaching of the Church based on the teachings of Jesus Christ to His disciples. This process is called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults or RCIA. Anyone interested in seeking this way of life may call the Rectory to sign up at 262-4725.

Study, fellowship, worship opportunities

Saint Luke Lutheran Church offers several faith strengthening opportunities during the week. The parish's Wednesday 10:30 a.m. fellowship/study is focusing on Numbers. The group attempts to cover one chapter a session and meets at 48095 Andrews Avenue for approximately one hour.

Wednesday evening activities take place at the Parish Hall, 43055 Kenai Spur Highway, and consist of a potluck fellowship, Vespers Service and detailed analysis of basic Christian doctrine, currently focusing on the relevance of ancient Christian doctrine for the 21st Century. The fellowship/potluck begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by Vespers at 6:30 p.m. and study from 7 to 8 p.m. The pastor also offers weekly homilies on the website in written and mp3 formats for those who cannot participate in any of the parish activities in person.
