Phillips to present forum

Phillips Alaska Inc. will host a community meeting Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Chapman School. Information on oil exploration near Anchor Point will be presented. The meeting also will provide a forum for community residents to get additional information and an opportunity to ask questions.

Orientation to be held

The Kenai Beautification Committee will hold its annual volunteer orientation Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Kenai City Council chambers Snacks will be provided. For more information, call Bob Frates at 283- 3385.

State education rep to speak at Kenai chamber

The speaker for the Kenai Chamber of Commerce luncheon Wednesday is Ernie Hall, a member of the state Board of Education and the Governor's Education Task Force. Meeting are open to the public and held at noon Wednesday at the Old Town Village Restaurant.

Blood drive planned

The Peninsula Center Mall will hold a spring blood drive Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Soldotna.

The Blood Bank of Alaska recommends donors drink lots of caffeine-free liquids and eat a good meal before donating. For more information, call 260-5672.

Slide show slated

Central Peninsula Master Gardeners presents Alaska Hardy Perennials with Rita Jo Shoultz in the Fritz Creek Garden Nursery in Homer Thursday at 7 p.m. A $2 donation is requested at the door, and refreshments will be available.

Committee meeting set

Healthy Communities-Heal-thy People Steering Committee will hold a monthly meeting Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Bridges in Kasilof. For more information, call 262-1831.

Volunteers to be honored

The Kenai Peninsula United Way Board of Directors and 2000 Campaign Chair Bob Favretto will hold a volunteer appreciation reception Thursday at Kenai Chrysler Center from 6 to 8 p.m.

There will be refreshments, door prizes and entertainment in celebration and recognition of volunteers.

KCHS choir reunion planned for June

Registrations are now being accepted for the first KCHS choir reunion being held June 2 for anyone who has sung under the direction of Renee Henderson. Contact information for all former students, as well as stand-by host accommodations, are being sought. For more information, call 283-8364.
