Margaret Minnie McRae
Former Kenai resident Margaret Minnie McRae died Saturday, April 1, 2006, at Providence Hospital in Anchorage. She was 84.
A graveside funeral service will be held at noon Monday, April 10, at the American Legion Cemetery in Seward. Father Emmanuel will officiate.
Mrs. McRae was born Dec. 21, 1922, in Kalispell, Mont., to Schuyler and Laura Rhone. She graduated in 1940 from Flathead County High School. She married Albert “Scotty” McRae on Dec. 25, 1940, in Polson, Mont.
She was a wife and mother and worked as a bookkeeper for Kenai Corners for a few years. She was active in the Seward Lutheran Church, Order of the Eastern Star and Pioneers of Alaska.
Mrs. McRae was preceded in death by her husband; infant son, Roger Bruce McRae; parents; and brother, John Rhone.
She is survived by her sons, Robert McRae and Doug and his wife, Diane McRae; daughter, Linda and her husband, Steve MacSwain; and grandchildren, Steve and Claudia MacSwain, Doug and Pam McRae Jr. and Stephanie and Parris Skoutas.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be sent to the Seward Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 1195, Seward, AK 99664.
Arrangements were made by Evergreen Memorial Chapel in Anchorage.
