Sears to hold parents meeting
Parents of children starting kindergarten for the 2000-01 school year are invited to attend a meeting at Sears Elementary School on Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the library. Baby-sitting is provided.
Softball meeting Tuesday
The Kenai Softball Association will hold a membership meeting Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Kenai Elks Lodge. Those planning on playing softball on a men's, women's or co-ed team must attend. Board members will be selected and teams will be registered. For more information, call 262-2734.
ASLC need volunteers
The Alaska SeaLife Center is in need of volunteers to work the floor, answer questions and other tasks. The monthly volunteer information series will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. The topic will be rehabilitation projects and new exhibits. The meeting is open to the public and free of charge.
ASSE sponsors environmental specialist
The Kenai Section of the American Society of Safety Engineers is sponsoring a business luncheon Tuesday at noon. The guest speaker will be Jim Butler, an attorney specializing in environmental law. He will discuss the legal liability of the safety professional and other related topics.
Safari Club ticket deadline set
This is the last week to purchase tickets for the dinner and auction fund-raiser for the Safari Club, which will be held April 22 at the Soldotna Spots Center. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased in the Kmart sporting goods department, at the Sports Den or American Trophy Taxidermy in Soldotna.
This year's dinner will include prizes, auctions, raffles and room in the center rink area. Dinner includes prime rib, baked stuffed prawns and Alaska silk pie.
Multiple sclerosis group to meet
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society Self-Help Group in the Soldotna and Kenai area will hold a meeting at the Central Peninsula General Hospital on Thursday at noon. The meeting is open to the public.
