TULUKSAK (AP) -- The body of a Tuluksak man who disappeared about two weeks ago while riding his snowmachine was recovered from the Kuskokwim River, Alaska State Troopers said Monday.

Searchers found the body of Golga Napoka, 57, on Sunday. Details of the recovery were not immediately available.

Late last month, Napoka's Polaris snowmachine was found near an area of open water on the river about 3.3 miles downriver from the village. Searchers also found the brown cap Napoka was wearing.

At the time, several people told troopers they saw a snowmachine near the area about a week before. They said it was traveling without a headlight and was going in the direction of the southwest Alaska village. Snowmachine tracks were found that led to the water's edge.
