On March 28, in the courthouse in Kenai, I was honored to attend a trial that I can only describe as extraordinary. The attorneys as well as the witnesses, jury and court bailiffs demonstrated professionalism well beyond their years. All of those involved were in Berni and John Wensley's fourth grade classes from Mountain View Elementary.
It took months of planning and research to put the "mock" trial together. I would like to thank Berni and John Wensley for their dedication to their students. Thank yous also go to Judge David Landry, Kenneth Cole and Mary Jane Bilderback who gave freely and willingly of their time in order to help the students create a very realistic trial.
And a final thank you goes to all of the students who worked so hard to put together one of the finest learning experiences I have ever seen.
