Photographers guild to meet

The Kenai Peninsula Photographers Guild will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Kenai Peninsula College in Room 106 to view and discuss digital photography.

The public is welcome and may bring photos to share. Photos should be on compact discs or other portable media, in JPEG format and smaller than 3 megabytes in size. For more information, contact Marianne at 398-0649.

Respite services available

Frontier Community Services is accepting applications for its senior services respite grant program. Respite services provides the opportunity for primary caregivers to take a break from assisting with the health and-or disability of a family member.

Community members caring for people with Alzheimer's-related dementia or an adult with a physical disability are encouraged to apply. For more information, call the Senior Services Department at 262-6331 ext. 356

YCC applications available

The Kenai National Wildlife Refuge is accepting applications for summer Youth Conservation Corps jobs for area youths ages 15 to 18.

Applications are available at the refuge, Alaska Employment Service Office in Kenai and from area high school counselors. The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. Friday. For more information, call 262-7021.

Flyball seminar slated

The Peninsula Dog Obedience Group will sponsor a flyball seminar from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the PenDOG facility on Kalifornsky Beach Road in Soldotna. Participants are encouraged to bring a sack lunch; beverages will be provided. No dogs, please.

The cost is $30 in advance or $40 at the door. For more information or to register, call 262-6846.

Artists and crafters sought

Kenai Senior Connection's gift shop is accepting applications from area artists and crafters with high-quality work. The sales commission will be 35 percent as this is a fund-raising project for the Kenai Senior Citizens Center. Applications and samples need to be submitted at the senior center. Applications are available at Odies Bead-it Shop, Soldotna Public Library, the senior center and the Kenai Fine Arts Center.
