Colon-Grundy deploys to Iraq

Former Soldotna resident Antonio “Tony” Colon-Grundy graduated at the top of his class at the Marine Corps military intelligence school in Virginia Beach, Va., Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006. He was given his choice of assignments and chose the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego, Calif.

Colon-Grundy’s unit deployed to Iraq March 28 for a six month tour of duty.

He is the son of Ricki Grundy and grandson of Toni Grundy.

Colon-Grundy is 2005 graduate of Soldotna HIgh School.

Needs radiates



Former Soldotna resident Megan Nicole Needs has been accepted into the two-year radiology program at Boise State University. She was one out of only 24 to be accepted. Needs is a freshman pursuing a bachelor’s degree in radiology.

She is the daughter of Rick and Rhonda Needs at a 2005 graduate of Soldotna High School.
