FAIRBANKS (AP) A Fairbanks teenager is accused of trying to mail a package of marijuana to Kaltag.
Conrad Aaron Semaken, 18, was charged last week with misconduct involving a controlled substance.
Alaska State Troopers in Galena received an anonymous tip in October that a package containing alcohol and marijuana was being shipped from Fairbanks to Dustin Semaken in Kaltag, according to an affidavit filed with the charges.
A University of Alaska Fairbanks' drug-sniffing dog, Briko, was taken into the loading dock area of Frontier Flying Service to search for marijuana Oct. 19. Afterward, Fairbanks International Airport police obtained a search warrant to open a cardboard box addressed to Dustin Semaken in Kaltag, the affidavit says.
Police found 62 grams of a green leafy substance packaged in plastic containers, the affidavit says. Conrad Semaken was identified as the person who delivered the box to the flying service, according to the complaint.
