Outdoor fellowship day planned

A men's outdoor fellowship day is planned for Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Solid Rock Bible Camp in Sterling.

Designed to focus worship on the Creator and for people to enjoy God's great outdoors, the day's activities offer related fun for men and boys.

Activities include guest speakers, worship and prayer, refreshments, lunch, outdoor skill demonstrations and Christian fellowship.

Sale to aid African hunger mission

The Kenai Church of God will conduct a yard sale Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church, 14143 Kenai Spur Highway.

Proceeds from the sale will go to Target Zimbabwe, an African hunger mission. Donations are being accepted.

Messianic Passover seder presented

The women's ministry of the Kenai Christian Church will present a Messianic Passover seder titled, "The Story of Passover," Saturday at the church, 104 McKinley St. in Kenai.

Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch following at noon. The cost is $10 and child care will be provided. However, children must be preregistered.

Martin to speak to Women's Aglow

Carol Martin will speak at the Kenai Women's Aglow meeting at 7 p.m. Monday in the Salvation Army Chapel, 201 North Forest Drive in Kenai.

Gospel hour planned

The Soldotna Senior Center will be the site of this year's Good Friday Gospel Hour, April 18. The service will include familiar music presented by the congregation of Peninsula Christian Center.

There also will be dessert and a devotional time. The service starts at 6 p.m. and donations will be accepted. For more information call 262-7416.

Friendship closet open

The Aurora Heights Assembly of God "Friendship Closet" is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays to meet people's clothing needs.

The clothing closet is located at the church on the corner of McGahan and Marie Avenue, near Mile 27 of the Kenai Spur Highway in Nikiski. For more information, call 776-8723.

Healing Rooms open

The Healing Rooms, a Bible-based Christian ministry in Kenai, is open every Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Healing Rooms is located across from the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center on the Kenai Spur Highway next to Little Ski-Mo.

Its mission is to bless Kenai Peninsula and other Alaska cities in the area of divine healing. For more information, call Ben Eby at 283-4404.

Religious poetry contest ongoing

A $1,000 grand prize is being offered in a special religious poetry contest sponsored by the New Jersey Rainbow Poets, free to anyone who ever has written a poem.

Fifty prizes in all total almost $5,000. The deadline for entering is Saturday.

Christian group sponsors contest

The Christian Fine Arts Society is sponsoring a religious poetry contest, free to everyone. Fifty prizes totaling $5,000 will be awarded, including a $1,000 grand prize.
