Soldotna Middle School pie auction a sweet success

Posted: Sunday, April 11, 2004

Soldotna Middle School PTSA recently held a pie auction. The auction was held in conjunction with a wonderful choir and band concert. We would like to thank the members of the PTSA for helping organize this event. Most of all though, we'd like to thank the special people who baked or donated pies. Unlike most auctions where parents are asked to bake, this auction had pies baked by our local "celebrities," even though they do not have children in Soldotna Middle.

Thank you Debbie Bagley, Barb Blakely, Dave Carey, Evy Gebhardt, Margaret Gilman, Mike Gustkey, Sylvia Reynolds, Jennifer Tabor and Sarge Truesdell.

The money earned is a tremendous boost to our PTSA fund that will in turn be used for the school. Thank you to the following families who won the bids for pies, and helped us raise just over $600: Blakely, Brazington, Byerley, Ghormley, Massey, McLane, Musgrove, Skuse and Waterberry.

This was a fun evening, largely due to Norm Blakely, our auctioneer. Barb and Norm were involved in organizing, baking, buying and selling. Many thanks to you both.
