Two nets — One will be for power volleyball and is for highly competitive players; and the other will be for friendly games with beginners welcome. A family activity. The class is from 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays in the gym at Soldotna Middle School.

First aid

Diane M. Campbell, EMS trainer, will instruct. This Coast Guard-approved class is taught according to American Safety and Health Institute standards. The class is from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Tuesday in Room 9 at SMS. There is a six person minimum,12 person maximum for this class. The cost is $45 per person. For teens and adults.

Rowing presentation set

Alaska Midnight Sun Rowing Association members will present information about the sport of sweep rowing and sculling for recreation, fitness and competition. The topics will be equipment, training, safety, clothing and area rowing opportunities. No prior experience needed. The class is from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Room 8 at SMS. There is no fee. For ages 14 and up.

Public speaking

Soldotna Toastmasters will provide tips on content, organizing presentations and how to stay on topic. Also, participants will learn techniques for controlling nerves and practicing for perfection. The class is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the library at SMS. The cost is $5. For teens and adults.

Fitness workshop

Cannetta Salmon, dance instructor and owner of Cannetic Energy, will explore different fitness techniques ranging from Pilates to interval training. The class is offered in two session. The cost is $45 per session or $40 if taking for both. It is for teens and adults.

Session one is Mondays and Thursdays now through April 28 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the multi-purpose room at SMS.

Session two is Mondays and Thursdays May 2 through 26 from 6 to 7 p.m. in the multi-purpose room at SMS.

Aerobics for everyone

Tiffany Martin will instruct. Participants will receive aerobic instruction that includes stretching techniques and endurance levels. Participants will be able to work at their own pace, receiving one-on-one attention and modifications for special needs such as pregnancy. For beginners and the experienced. Participants are asked to bring water and wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

The class begins at 7:15 p.m. Tuesdays in the multi-purpose room at SMS. The cost is $30.
