Chamber lunch hosts Enstar president

The speaker at this week's Kenai Chamber of Commerce meeting is Barret Hatches, the president of Enstar. The meeting is at noon at Paradisos and is open to the public.

Boys and Girls Club open house today

The Boys and Girls Club of Kenai will hold an open house from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the clubhouse. Spaghetti dinner will be served at 6 p.m. by club members and the play "How the Stink Bug Made Friends," will be performed by club members at 7 p.m. Dessert will be served at 7:30 p.m.

Kasilof historians plan meeting

The Kasilof Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting at Tustumena Elementary School on Thursday. The business meeting begins at 6:30 p.m., and a program on fox farming will begin at 7 p.m. It is open to the public. For more information, call 262-2439.

High schools hold dance gala

The annual mass dance concert will be Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Soldotna High School Auditorium. The event features dance troupes from Nikiski, Kenai Central, Skyview and Soldotna high schools, plus a guest appearance by the Tinikling dancers from North Star Elementary School.

Admission is $5 per person.

New art program to expand minds

An arts exploratory program designed to stimulate children second through sixth grade to explore and expand their interests is being held at Soldotna Middle School. Classes cost $10 per session for two weeks. Openings are still available in most classes. For more information, call 262-6768.

United Way seeks volunteers

The Kenai Peninsula United Way is currently seeking volunteers that would be interested in dedicating one day of their time toward the upcoming allocations review process on May 4 at the Borough Building in Soldotna.

The Allocations Review Process is the annual evaluation for distribution of funds toward the 27 area United Way agencies.

Craft Fair Saturday

Soldotna Community Schools and Skyview National Honor Society present their annual Make-It and Take-It Craft Fair at Soldotna Middle School.

The time listed in the Winter-Spring 2000 Community School brochure was incorrect -- the correct time is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Soldotna Middle School.

Softball clinic on Saturday

The Kenai Parks and Recreation Department and the Kenai Little League Association are co-sponsoring a softball skills clinic for kids ages 7 to 12. The cost is $3 per child. The clinic will be held at the Kenai Recreation Center at 10 a.m. for kids 7 to 9, and at noon for those 10 to 12.
