Area students named to honor roll
The following Kenai Peninsula residents were named to the honor roll for the fall semester at Oregon State University:
Homer: With a straight-A average, Patrick O. Kinney, senior, exercise and sport science; and Logan E. Sander, senior, environmental science; with a 3.5 grade point average or better, James B. Calhoun, junior, environmental science; Jasmine R. Fry, senior, environmental science; and Steven P. Stead, freshman, pre-nuclear engineering.
Kasilof: With 3.5 GPA or better, Amy M. Lambe, junior, general agriculture; and Zachariah R. Reilly, senior, civil engineering.
Soldotna: With a 3.5 or better, Mark D. Wackler, senior, fisheries and wildlife science.
Homer man completes Marine training
Pfc. Daniel J. Stroud of Homer recently graduated from the avionics technician organization level course while assigned with Marine Aviation Training Support Group 21 in Pensacola, Fla. During the course, he received instruction on RF communications, navigation systems and radar technology and maintenance.
Stroud is a 1999 Homer High School graduate who joined the Marine Corps in June 2003. He is the son of Dian E. and Louis W. Stroud of Homer.
