Kenneth H. Smith
Former Soldotna resident Kenneth H. Smith, died Monday, March 26, 2007, in Las Vegas of heart complications. He was 59.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 7, in Soldotna. Time and location to be announced later.
Mr. Smith was born in Pennsylvania on Sept. 11, 1947. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1970 through 1974. After the Air Force he moved to Soldotna where he lived from 1974 to 2001. While in Alaska he worked on the Alaska pipeline and for Unocal Chemicals for 18 years. He then moved to Las Vegas where he resided for the past five years and was a poker dealer for Fiesta Henderson. He was a member of the Moose Horn Amateur Radio Club, under the call name of KL7JFY. His hobbies included fishing, golfing and reading.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his mother, Asdis Smith; sister, Diane Smith; father, Donald Smith; and brother, Victor Eugene Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Smith; stepchildren, Donald, Daniel, Melissa and Cindy Hulett of Las Vegas; son, Nuson Smith and his wife, Meghan of Soldotna; daughter, Melissa Smith of Las Vegas; former wife, Sawang (Nit) Smith of Alaska; sisters, Donna Adams and Susan Robinson of Alaska and Debbie Nelson of North Carolina; half brothers and sisters, Cindy, Barbara, Paul, Carl, John, Doug and Joe; and grandchildren, Dominyk, Keenan and Kylie of Las Vegas and Kayla of Soldotna.
Arrangements were made by Palm Mortuary in Las Vegas.
