Recipes wanted

The Clarion is seeking recipes to include in its Wednesday Food section. Send recipes to news@peninsulaclarion.com, fax them to 283-3299 or drop them by the office at 150 Trading Bay Drive in Kenai. Name, address, contact number and brief description of how you came up with or came by the recipe is needed. Community ping pong continues

Public ping pong is held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Redoubt Elementary School. For more information, call 262-7899.

Black bear baiting clinics set

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game will hold a black bear baiting clinic. Clinic will be held in Soldotna - April 30 at 6 p.m. at the Kenai Peninsula Sport, Rec and Trade Show at the Soldotna Sports Center. You may not register a bait station in units 6d, 7, 14a, 14b, 15, 16a or 20b unless you have successfully completed an ADF&G approved bear baiting clinic.

If you have already attended a clinic and been certified, you are not required to recertify. The session are walk-in, are approximately three hours long and provided free of charge to the public.

New this year will be an online bear bait clinic course is available for anyone over 16-years-old wishing to become certified to register a bait station.

Pet photos can be color or black and white and should be no smaller than 3-by-5 inches. They may include people. Limit one photo per household. They can be dropped off at the Kenai office, mailed to the Clarion at P.O. Box 3009, Kenai, 99611, or e-mailed to news@peninsulaclarion.com. A brief explanation of the photo, the pet's and owner's names, owner's address and phone number must be included.

Talent show on tap

The Skyview High School talent show will be held at 6 p.m. April 20 in the Skyview commons.

The event will showcase and provide students an opportunity demonstrate their talents in performing and visual arts. The price of admission is $3 per person. Refreshments will be sold at the show. For more information, call 260-2300.

Miracles to be discussed

A Course In Miracles study group will be held at Kaladi's (Safeway parking area) group room Mondays from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Ham it up

A class in amateur radio theory and regulations is being organized for anyone interested in obtaining a "ham" radio license.

Seattle getaway fundraiser continues

The Rotary Club - Kenai River Soldotna is offering a chance to win a Seattle getaway that includes two round-trip airline tickets from Anchorage to Seattle - winner can choose the dates between May and September. Getaway includes two tickets to a Mariners baseball game - reserved seats, two rounds of golf at the Tacoma Country Club, three nights lodging in the home of a Rotarian and more.

Tickets are $25 per chance and can be purchased from any Kenai River Rotarian. Proceeds will be split between Rotary International's goal to eradicate Polio worldwide and other Kenai River projects.
