Danica Broerman and her sister Brodie Kimmel cast long shadows as they run across the Kenai River bridge in Soldotna shortly after sunrise Saturday. They were part of a group of runners that met to log a few miles on the recently thawed Unity Trail. Trails around town should continue melting, as forecasters call for more sun this week.
