Fund-raiser postponed

The Kenai Eagles Auxiliary has canceled its hospice fund-raiser dinner, that was scheduled for Saturday at the Eagles Aerie, due to a memorial service set for Albert E. Patterson.

The dinner will be rescheduled at a later date. For more information, call Donna at 283-8017.

CES, Habitat to dedicate house

Central Emergency Services and Central Peninsula Habitat for Humanity will hold a dedication ceremony for the CES Habitat House at 1 p.m. Friday at 369 Sohi Lane in Soldotna.

Car wash scheduled for today

The Soldotna High School Cross-Country Ski Team Booster Club will hold a fund-raising car wash at Papa Murphy's in the Business Plaza in Soldotna from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Team members will be washing the vehicles and selling Kaladi Brothers coffee.

Hospital service area board meeting set for Monday

The Central Kenai Peninsula Hospital Service Area Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the Illiamna Room at the Central Peninsula General Hospital. For more information, call 262-9892.

Domestic violence seminar offered

The Women's Resource and Crisis Center will offer a domestic violence education seminar Monday from 4 to 5:15 p.m. in room 201 at Kenai Peninsula College. The topic will be domestic violence and religion.

The seminars are offered each Monday through May 7 and are open to the public. For more information, call 283-9479.

Immunization clinics canceled

The immunizations clinics planned for Monday and Wednesday at the Kenai Public Health Center are canceled. Also, the immunizations clinics planned for Tuesday and Thursday at the Homer Health Center are canceled.

Proposal writing workshop planned

The Small Business Development Center and the Procurement Technical Assistance will sponsor a workshop entitled "How to Write a Winning Proposal with the Government" at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Red Diamond Center.

The workshop will focus on preparing government proposals and is geared toward preproposal planning. There is no cost for the workshop.

Clubhouse to close for training

The Boys and Girls Club of the Kenai Peninsula Kenai After School Clubhouse will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday for staff training. The clubhouse will reopen Thursday after school for normal programming. All other activities at the Boys and Girls Club will continue as scheduled. For more information, call 283-2682.

Kenai chamber to host congressman

The Kenai Chamber of Commerce luncheon will be held at noon Wednesday at the Old Town Village Restaurant. The guest speaker will be Congressman Don Young.

Sterling Community Club to meet

The Sterling Community Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the log cabin on the corner of the Sterling Highway and Swanson River Road. The meeting is open to the public.

Nikiski dance concert planned

There will be a Nikiski High School Dance Concert held at 7 p.m. April 27 and 28 at the Nikiski High School Auditorium. Featured guests include Soldotna High School, Kenai Central High School, the North Star Tiniklers and the Nikiski High Alumni. Tickets will be available at the door. The cost is $8 for general admission and $5 for students and seniors.
