A raven harasses a Canada goose Wednesday evening, April 11, 2001, in the front viewing field of Creamer's Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge in Fairbanks, Alaska.

The raven, which had been in the area for a while when the goose arrived, gave up the attack and moved to another part of the field. The first geese of the season were seen at the refuge Wednesday morning.

The arrival date of Fairbanks' first geese this spring was nearly identical to the last two years. Last year the first geese touched down on April 10 and the year before it was April 12.
