Troopers identify human remains found near Wasilla

WASILLA (AP) -- Human remains found near Wasilla last month have been identified as a woman missing for at least 16 months.

Kimberly Kay Borkowski, 34, of Anchorage, was reported missing by her family Dec. 7, 2001.

Pedestrians walking at Mile 7.3 Knik Goose Bay Road spotted the remains March 26.

Borkowski last had contact with her family May 1, 2001.

Alaska State Troopers said the remains were identified through dental records.

A cause of death has not been determined and troopers are seeking help from the public to find out Borkowski's whereabouts after May 1, 2001.
