School to present adolescent issues video

Redoubt Elementary School will present "Parent to Parent," a video-based program to help parents deal directly with children on issues facing adolescents this Tuesday and Thursday, as well as April 22 and 24 at the school from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. For more information, call Donna at 262-9006.

MacDowell to speak at Alliance meeting

Immunization clinics canceled

The Kenai Public Health Center has canceled its immunization clinics scheduled for this week. Clinics originally planned for Monday and Wednesday in Kenai and Thursday at the Soldotna Elks Club will not be held. For more information, call 335-3400.

Informative brunch scheduled

Peninsula Take a Break will sponsor a brunch entitled, "A Tisket a Tasket, the Perfect Gift Basket," Tuesday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Solid Rock Conference Center. Ann Larson will show how to add special touches to gift baskets, violinist Laurel Coombes will provide music and Reva Maulding will give an inspirational talk. Skyview to hold basketball banquet

Blood drive planned

The Blood Bank of Alaska will sponsor a blood drive Wednesday from noon to 4 p.m. at Nikiski Middle-Senior High School. Participants are asked to drink plenty of caffeine-free fluids and eat before donating blood. For more information, call the blood bank at 260-5672.

AARP to meet

Relay for Life meeting planned

DEC plans food handling class

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation will hold a food handlers class from 4 to 8 p.m. April 28 at the Kenai Peninsula Borough Building in Soldotna. Preregistration is required. For more information, call Jeri at 262-5210.

Cleanup day planned

The Kenai Lions Club and ConocoPhillips will sponsor this year's annual Kenai Cleanup Day May 3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Check-in for the event will take place at the Kenai Green Strip on Main Street Loop. Participants are asked to collect trash bags and return them to the drop-off station between noon and 1 p.m. Prizes will be given for the top three trash gatherers in both youth and adult divisions.
