We think the Palin administration and the Legislature have spent too much time with the North Slope producers over the proposed gas pipeline project.
The producers won’t budge and haven’t since the Murkowski years.
We are looking forward to AGIA passing in the Legislature and we reach the threshold of “open season” bidding negotiations. The North Slope producers can pass on the bidding process, which is their right. We have no problem with that.
Let’s see what happens with open season! It may well end up the gas stays in Alaska for our homes, vehicles (NGV similar to Asia) and businesses, as well as multiple mega projects. The full development of our “hard rock” resources in the next 200 years will affect future generations of Alaskans in a very positive manner. It takes a lot of energy (gas to electricity) for mega projects.
