Reader hopes ‘gifts’ earned with hard work appreciated

To the person who found my Home Depot refund card that you probably found in the Safeway parking lot and used it instead of finding the owner: I know you used it. I know when you used it. I know what you bought.
I hope every time you cook on my barbecue, you think of me.
I hope every time you pull something cold out of my portable refrigerator, you think of me.
Most of all, I hope that the things you bought with my money are things you need to get by. I hope that your life is better because of my hard work.
Perhaps in the future you will do the same for someone else.
