DILLINGHAM (AP) -- A Togiak woman was killed this week after a four-wheeler slammed into her while she was walking down a road near the village, according to Alaska State Troopers.
Elena Foerch, 50, was struck late Wednesday by a vehicle being driven by a juvenile who was racing another four-wheeler on the road, troopers said.
The accident occurred about on the road to Togiak's airport. Foerch died at the village clinic about five hours later.
Witnesses told troopers the woman was struck from behind at high speed in poor lighting conditions.
No charges had been filed as of Friday afternoon.
Troopers haven't identified the juveniles involved. They said they are not finished with their investigation.
