Americans should not forget past friendship with French

The position of the French leaders does not necessarily reflect the position of most citizens of France. Perhaps we should be admonished for our French bashing.

Should we forget that in our own revolutionary days of George Washington, without the help of General Lafayette and the French nation, we might not be the America we are today?
