The seventh-grade counselor for next year, Mrs. Dougherty, will visit the elementary schools on the following dates: Kalifornsky Beach Elementary, 8 to 9 a.m. Monday; Soldotna Elementary, 10 to 11 a.m. Monday; Redoubt and Cooper Landing, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday; Tustumena Elementary, 9:30 to 10:30 Tuesday; and Sterling Elementary, 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Local potter and artist Libby Berezin recently was a guest speaker in Ms. Johnson's math classes. Berezin explained to the students the many ways she uses mathematics while making pottery. Some of the math she uses is quite complicated and the students were shown a reason for doing well in math class. Berezin gave away a piece of pottery to the student with the lucky number in each class. Thanks to Libby for the time and energy she gave to the school.

The aviation classes thank Nelson Amen and Dean Eichholz for taking the time to come in and share their enthusiasm, skills and experiences with flight.

The eighth-grade science classes would like to thank McDonald's of Soldotna for their generous donation of ice, which students used to conduct investigations with phase changes while making ice cream.
