City shouldn't compete with private enterprise

In regard to Friday's Clarion, thank you to the owner of the Kenai Landing for standing up to the City of Kenai for what they (the City Council) have done to our quiet town, by inviting the hoard from Anchorage in the name of the almighty Dollar to ruin what use to be a quiet local fishery. I can't believe it has taken this long for local RV parks to have a fit about the City of Kenai using the very tax dollars they're paying, to compete with them.

If the City is going to compete against local business they should be exempt from paying property tax.

Here's a news flash to the Kenai City Council: People from Anchorage don't spend money in Kenai Except for ice, maybe. Everything they need is cheaper in Anchorage and they don't have to pay tax on it.

Shut down all city camping, at least until every privately owned camping spot is full.

I know I speak for thousands of Kenai residents when I say the dipnet fishery is out of hand and something needs to be done. I have to go calm down now. Thank you.
