FAIRBANKS (AP) -- The University of Alaska Fairbanks rifle team is losing its coach.

Dave Johnson will leave the Nanooks to be head coach of the U.S. Olympic rifle team.

During Johnson's two years at UAF, the Nanooks won their third and fourth consecutive national collegiate titles.

Johnson turned down the job with the Olympic team in December but took it when it was offered a second time.

UAF officials said they will begin an immediate national search for Johnson's replacement.
