Area students named to OSU honor roll

Five area students were named to the honor roll for the winter term at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Ore. To be named to the honor roll, students must carry at least 12 graded hours of course work and earn a grade point average of at least 3.5.

The students named to the list included Levi F. Kilcher, Patrick O. Kinney and Logan E. Sander of Homer; Levi R. Reilly of Kasilof; and Alisa E. Bishop of Seward.

Soldotna youth accepted to Harding University

Kyle Foster of Soldotna has been accepted at Harding University in Searcy, Ark., for the fall semester. Foster currently attends Soldotna High School where he plays football, baseball and basketball.

He is the son of Steve and Becky Foster of Soldotna.

Soldotna teen enlists in Army

Travis D. Bass of Soldotna has enlisted in the U.S. Army as a network switching systems operator-maintainer. He has qualified for up to $40,000 under the Army College Fund program and left for basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C.

Bass is a 2001 Soldotna High School graduate and the son of Danny J. Bass of Fort Worth, Texas, and Heather J. Deitrick of Soldotna.

Kenai woman graduates from college

Annie Amanda Ellis graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a bachelor's degree in English and a minor in art. She is the daughter of Marty Ames Ellis of Kenai and Lowell Ellis of Juneau.
