Samoan Church to visit peninsula

Rhema Samoan Church of Anchorage will hold a one-time service at 10:30 a.m. today at Soldotna High School. Hosted by Peninsula Chiristian Center, the service will feature cultural music, island praise and worship, drama and children’s skits. The audience is encouraged to wear tropical clothing (no swim suits). For more information, call 262-7416.

Dance encore presentation set

Nikiski High School dance troupe will perform at 3 p.m. today at the Renee C. Henderson Auditorium. Tickets are available at the door. The cost is $5 general admission. Guest performers will be Star Sensations, Peninsula Artists in Motion and Encore Dance Studio.

Library to celebrate

Soldotna Public Library will celebrate National Library Week today through Saturday.

The library is declaring the week “fine-free” (any overdue books brought in will have the fines waived), invites preschoolers to attend its 10:30 a.m., Wednesday morning story time, encourages membership in the Friends of the Library organization and will host a drawing for prizes.

Relay For Life meetings slated

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life will hold a captain’s meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday downstairs in the Redoubt Room. Pizza and drinks will be provided. Participants are asked to RSVP to Penny at 260-8031 or e-mail

The relay will be held June 1 and 2 at the Skyview High School track in Soldotna.
