Here comes the 31st Annual Home Show

For the last 31 years the Annual Home Show sponsored by the Kenai Peninsula Builders Association (KPBA) and Spenard Builders Supply has been a stimulating balm for spring fever. A time to meet local contractors and vendors of the latest gadgets and building technologies, as well as a chance to run into your old friends that you haven't seen since last year's Home Show. The theme for this year's show says Cindy Rombach, executive officer of the Builders Association is "Building a Strong Community." "It is with this theme in mind that we pause to celebrate the caring community we live in, and the many ways we're involved that help to make the Kenai Peninsula such a special and unique place to call home," said Rombach.

According to Cindy this year's display space has been sold out for over a month and will feature 120 booths, "Exhibitors will be on hand to show you the best and latest in home products and services including new home plans, building supplies, inspection information, home appliances & spas, roofing materials, water treatment systems, floor coverings, entertainment systems, cabinets, spas and saunas, just to mention a few of the items to be on display," she said. Give-a-ways are a Home Show tradition and this year will include several grand prizes and a $500 cash grand prize sponsored by H.E.A. plus many other door prizes given away every 15 minutes in addition to the prize drawings at many of the vendor booths. "And don't forget we're raffling a beautiful garden shed built by instructors and students of the Kenai Peninsula Construction Academy to benefit the KPBA Scholarship Fund with the winning ticket to be drawn at the close of the show on Sunday," said Rombach.

Additionally the KPBA will be holding a wine tasting event Friday, April 30th for the benefit of their scholarship fund that assists students interested in pursuing a career in the fields of building and construction trades, Alayna Krsnak, Alaska USA Mortgage Co. told the Dispatch. "It'll be a great night which will feature delicious hors d'oeuvres paired with the perfect wine by Specialty Imports a really fun night to launch the construction season. Tickets are available by calling the KPBA at 283-8071, or you can contact me at the Soldotna AK USA Mortgage office at 714-4383 for tickets and also Joe Rogers at South Central Title also has tickets available," said Krsnak. Tickets for the Home Show are always available at the door for only $4.00 for adults, $3.00 for students & Senior Citizens and children under 12 and all active military personnel are admitted free. "The KPBA thanks our friends and neighbors on the Kenai Peninsula that support our community and the building industry by attending our 31st Annual Home Show. Together we are truly Building a Strong Community," concluded Rombach.
