Soldotna area resident Dorothy Louise "Kittie" Trumbly died Friday, April 13, 2001, at her home south of Soldotna. She was 70.
A memorial Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Soldotna. Father Richard Tero will officiate. Mrs. Trumbly will be inurned in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Grants Pass, Ore.
Mrs. Trumbly was born June 17, 1930, in Cheyenne, Wyo. She was educated through high school and was a business college graduate. She moved to Anchorage in December 1969 and lived there until April 1977. She moved to Grants Pass and later returned to Alaska on Aug. 13, 1998, and lived near Soldotna. She worked as a vocational nurse and in clerical support.
Mrs. Trumbly was a member of the Catholic faith and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She also was on the Soldotna Senior Center board and was a former "Pink Lady" at Josephine Memorial Hospital in Grants Pass. Her hobbies and interests included writing novels and reading.
Mrs. Trumbly is survived by her husband, Carl A. Trumbly, of Soldotna; daughters LeeSan D.L. Trumbly of Grants Pass and Carla A. Trumbly of West Linn, Ore.; grandchildren Katherine L. Bower of Grants Pass, Charity A. Cooley of Barre, Mass., and Scottie A. Davis of Camarillo, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Y. Bower of Grants Pass, Daniel M.C. Cooley of Barre and Sierra A. Davis of Camarillo; and two great-grandchildren due in October 2001.
