Fish and Game advisory committee to meet

The Kenai-Soldotna Fish and Game Advisory Committee will meet today at 7 p.m. at the Kenai River Center. Legislative confirmation of Board of Fisheries appointees will be discussed. For more information, call Brent Johnson at 262-4763.

Chamber breakfast planned

The regularly scheduled Kenai Chamber of Commerce luncheon for today has been canceled. Instead, the chamber will hold a breakfast with state administrators entitled, "How the House and Senate budget cuts will affect your Kenai business," beginning at 7:30 a.m. today at the Kenai Merit Inn.

Annalee McConnell, director of the Office of Management and Budget; Kurt Parkan, deputy commissioner; Glenn Godfrey, commissioner of Public Safety; and Pat Pourchot, commissioner of Natural Resources will be on hand to discuss the effects of various state budget cuts.

Red Cross offers CPR/First Aid classes

The Red Cross offers monthly CPR/First Aid classes. This month's classes will take place today and Thursday from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. and May 4 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Cost is $58. For more information call 262-4541.

Soroptimists to hold board meeting

Soroptimist International of Twin Cities board meeting will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at First National Bank in Soldotna.

Builders to hold dinner meeting

The Kenai Peninsula Builders Association will hold its April membership dinner at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Ruben's Restaurant in Kenai. Guest speaker will be Steve Wisdom, who will discuss the topic, "Indoor Air Quality and Ventilation." For more information, call 283-8071.

Community Rivers Planning Coalition to meet

The watershed committee of Community Rivers Planning Coalition will be meeting Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Chapman School Library. Geoff Coble, of Coble Geophysical Services, will show his work in the Anchor River watershed, including modeling the surface water and groundwater flow in a 14-square-mile portion of the watershed. Realtors plan luncheon

The Kenai Peninsula Association of Realtors will hold its general membership meeting at noon Thursday at the Kings Inn in Kenai. Guest speakers will be Steve Wisdom and Chris Rodriguez. Cost is $10. RSVP required.

AHFC schedules mold hazards class

The Alaska Housing Finance Corporation is sponsoring a mold hazards class Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Kings Inn in Kenai. Causes, treatment and other mold-related topics will be discussed.

Ski team to hold car wash

The Soldotna High School cross country ski team is holding a car wash Friday from noon until 4 p.m. at Papa Murphy's in Soldotna. Money raised will go to a fund for the team to build a ski waxing shed. For more information, call Kathy at 283-9492.

Bike show planned

The Kenai Peninsula chapter of A.B.A.T.E. is holding a bike show Saturday and Sunday at the Peninsula Center Mall in Soldotna. Bikes must be in the mall by 10 a.m. Saturday. Trophies will be awarded on Sunday.

Willow identification workshop scheduled

The Kenai Watershed Forum is sponsoring a workshop entitled, "Winter Identification of Willows," with Dominique Collet. The workshop will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon in the Kenai Peninsula College parking lot. This workshop is designed for property owners interested in learning about gathering willow cuttings for river bank erosion control. For more information, call Kelly or Robert at 260-5449.
