Marjorie Ruth Chapman
Kenai resident Marjorie Ruth Chapman died Friday, April 15, 2005, at her home. She was 92.
A private family service will be held. A graveside service will be held at the Centerville Cemetery in Centerville, Utah.
Mrs. Chapman was born March 26, 1913, in Centerville. She was a homemaker. She moved to Alaska in October 2002.
Mrs. Chapman was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed gardening and crafts.
"Remembering the wonderful life and gracious spirit of Marjorie Chapman. In honoring her, she loved to tell the stories of her youth in Utah, and she had some very creative crafts. She had a very adventurous spirit, piercing blue eyes, glowing complexion and a beautiful smile. She always remembered others with small gifts, cards or a kind word," her family said.
Mrs. Chapman was preceded in death by her husband, Valjean Chapman.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Jill Chapman of Kenai; grandchildren, Rebecca Hall and husband, Mike, of Kenai, Alicia Marron and husband, Todd, of Utah, and Rainee Pontius and husband, Ben, of Utah; great-grandchildren, Ashley Brenton, Rachael Hall, Jasmine Marron, Tiffany Hall, Tanner Marron, Brittany Hall, Conner Marron and Isaac Pontius; and sister, Marian Wilcox of Utah.
The family prefers memorial donations be made in Mrs. Chapman's name to Hospice of the Central Peninsula, P.O. Box 2584, Soldotna, AK 99669.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
